整理し直します。
表象には、直観と概念があります。 直観は対象に触発されて生じた像なので、対象と直接的な関係性を持ちます。 これを対象との関係において一次的に生じる像と表現すると、 その一次的な表象に対する、二次的な表象が概念であり、その概念に対する像は三次的な表象となるかと思っています。
一次的な表象が、哲学では『質料』と呼ばれるものではないかと今のところ思っています。

As no representation, except an intuition, relates immediately to its object,
a conception but only to some other representation thereof,
be that an intuition or itself a conception.
A judgement, therefore, is the mediate cognition of an object, consequently the representation of a representation of it.
